My Travel Story

Hello, my name is Ayda. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and potentially support my travel fund.




I am originally from East Africa, Ethiopia. Coming from a less privileged family, living here in the USA has exceeded my wildest dreams. However, I have always had a dream to visit Europe someday, but financially, it has been challenging as my earnings usually just cover my basic needs and help my mom back home.




The good news is that now I am not alone. I have a fiancé and a lovely 2-year-old son, who I have been able to stay at home and raise, thanks to my fiancé covering our bills. With summer here, my future brother-in-law, who happens to live in Bordeaux, France, has invited us to visit him. He wants to show us around and give us the beautiful European experience I have been longing for. I got extremely excited about this opportunity, as it would be the perfect time to travel before my son starts preschool in September and I return to work.




However, with all three of us relying on just one income source (my fiancé’s income) and the cost of living being higher these days, the trip wouldn’t be easy for us financially. That’s why when I came across this platform a few days ago, I saw it as a sign from God, bringing me to kind and generous people who could help make my dream of travel come true.




The funds I receive from this fundraiser will help us buy our tickets so that our only worries would be covering our expenses in France. As space is limited in Europe, my brother-in-law won’t be able to accommodate us in his one-bedroom apartment with his family. We will need to rent a place for a few days and cover our meals.
