My Travel Story

I am a member of a short-term mission team that will be working with His Hands for Belize, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in Belize. Our trip is scheduled for November 16, 2023, to November 21, 2023, and I am seeking support to make this mission trip possible.

During our time in Belize City, we will be actively involved in gathering vital information on the children in His Hands for Belize's child sponsorship program. This includes conducting interviews, taking measurements, and capturing photographs of the children. Additionally, we will be identifying new children who can benefit from the program. His Hands for Belize aims to provide educational support to these children, as education is crucial for their future success.

Belize faces significant challenges in terms of education and poverty. While Belizean laws require children to complete primary school, only about 63% of girls and 57% of boys continue into secondary school, with even fewer completing it. Moreover, more than half of Belize's older high school-aged children are not attending school. The unemployment rate stands at approximately 10%, and around 43% of the population lives below the poverty line. Additionally, 25% of Belizean children come from single-parent homes, where the mother often works menial jobs to support the family.

To ensure the success of this mission trip, I kindly request your support in two ways: financial assistance and prayers.
