My Travel Story

by: Cynthia Hill Start Date: Feb 4, 2016 - End Date: Nov 3, 2016
I've always felt that I've been meant to do something bigger. I've always had a passion for helping people, especially children. I have been accepted into an 18 week volunteering program in Rabat, Morocco working with children through IVHQ (International Volunteer HQ). While I am there, I will be assisting in the development in their English skills, creating a fun and educational enviroment, along with playing sports and keeping kids active.

WHEN?
My EOS (end of service) date in the Navy is set for July 14th, 2017. I will be leaving for Morocco 2 weeks later on the 7th of August.

WHY?
I have a very strong passion for this, and I am so very excited that I have control onfmy dreams. This being one of them.

WHERE?
I chose Morroco because I have always wanted to travel and experience Africa. I find that many people are mislead when it comes to the Muslim culture. I want to learn. I want to experience. And I want to help.

I will be staying with a family in Rabat, Morocco located near the development center. I will be experiencing the culture, food, and religion first hand along with a small group of other volunteers.

My costs include a registration fee, to hold my spot, my trip cost, flight cost, travelers insurance, passport costs, emergency money, etc.
