My Travel Story

Hello there!
I'm Giulia, a 22-year-old Italian student, wanna be an SBK mechanic (..someday).

I recently completed my post-diploma course and now I'm gonna do an until September, with some refunds but not a full salary... After this, I hope to find a job.

I know maybe this may seem a little thing, but I haven't done a vacation in years due to family circumstances:
In 2022 my mom had a stroke, leaving her 100% disabled and my dad has a hernia that doesn't let him work, so we're kinda.. in a bad situation right now and we are facing financial difficulties.
In addition to these problems, I've been struggling with my mental health and have been seeing a psychologist (once a month since I can't afford more).


And so my (overthinking) brain decided to daydream about going to London, my dream place since I was a kid, and try to attend the Basingstoke Comic Con on 05/10/24 (MM/DD/YY), because in my strugglings the series 'Our Flag Means Death' and Izzy Hands in particular helped me cope with my feelings and emotions, and the actor, Con O'Neill will be there.

I've estimated the trip to cost 900€, but I can only afford 300€ (..which is equivalent to a month's rent.)
Currently, I spend a significant amount of money on transportation to help my dad every weekend and visit my mom once a month in her nursing home.
My parents try to help me but I feel terrible asking them for money so I try to pay my rent with the last savings I have from last summer's work, and they help me with the grocery shopping.

I'm reaching out to seek financial assistance in making this much-needed vacation a reality.
Right now I feel like I'm on the brink of burnout, balancing my dad's work, in the night, after 8 hours of studying/working, cooking/eating, and 1;30 of gym (because, yes.. helps staying calm). I only help him online filling the invoices, but for me, it's really exhausting, and doing it every day... man...it sucks xD.
Additionally, starting from 04/18, I'll be working weekends with motorbike teams, with only refunds for travel and food expenses.


So...yeah... I thought... "why not try" and here I am, asking strangers to help me save some money, every support will be appreciated, it's not a life-threatening situation, so yeah... I'm hopeful that strangers' generosity can help me achieve this dream.
I'm unsure how I can repay your kindness, but if you're from London/nearby, I'd love to meet you in person...I usually only write in English and I would really appreciate to try out my speaking skills.

Anyway, I understand this may be an unconventional request, but with your support, I hope to fulfill this dream and experience a much-needed break.
