My Travel Story

I have almost raised enough money! Thanks to all of you beautiful people out there in cyberland!!
I dream of finding a way to turn making things from yarn into a living for myself. Going on a once in a lifetime trip such as this will help me to network and develop even more skills moving forward. I am so excited to experience "the old country" and some of the culture that makes up my own heritage.
Click here "Lambs on the Run Go to Scotland" or on the link down below to see the agenda of the trip which will include world class knitting teachers and classes, tours through castles, etc., great accomodations, and yarn crawling. We will be starting off the trip by attending the Edinburgh Yarn Festival, and as you can imagine, in the land of sheep, this is "where it's at"! I will also need to pay for my airfare. I looked at the numbers and it costs about the same to fly into London and take the train up to Edinburgh as it would to fly directly into Scotland and since I have never been in Europe, or left the North American continent, that option sounds amazing as I could see London briefly and then the countryside between while knitting on a train. I can't think of a more romantic thing than that (of course that is because I'm a yarn nerd)! I also figured out that if each of my Facebook friends were able to give me just $10.00-$13.00 I would be able to go on this trip.

Only a Week Left Until Takeoff!
OMG!!! In exactly 1 week, I will be heading to the airport! I am excited and nervous and happy! I have chatted over the phone to my roomie for the trip! We are going to have such an adventure! I want to say thank you to each and every one of you, whether you have been able to donate money, or whether you are sending good thoughts and prayers! It all matters and I will be taking all of those thoughts and wishes with me across that pond! I hope the improving weather is making everyone get a little spring fever and makes you want to start a new project, or clean out your dusty closet, or whatever will make you feel like a brand new you! I think this trip is a great way for me to do just that! All my love to you!

    Off to a Great Start!
I want to say Thank You to everyone who is still with me, donating and making this trip a reality. Although, I am not sure that I will actually believe it is real until I am stepping onto that plane exactly two weeks from today! That's right, I am leaving March 13th! I have my itinerary, my flights, my train ticket from London to Edinburgh. I have borrowed an appropriately large suitcase and a few other tidbits from friends and family. And I am so grateful and aware of how blessed and fortunate I am to have you all in my life! I will post a few more updates, and then...away I go!!
