My Travel Story

by: Taylor Nash Start Date: Oct 16, 2017 - End Date: Aug 30, 2018
I'm currently in my junior year at Norwich University in Northfield, VT, USA. I'm majoring in International Studies with my focus being in French language and European history/politics. Studying abroad is required for my degree and is something I have wanted to do for many years. I will be going abroad in August of 2018 and returning in December. Less than a year away! The cost of my chosen program is $12,995 plus the cost of travel, visas, and other expenses. Yikes.

Studying abroad in Grenoble will allow me to better my understanding of French culture as well as aide my French-speaking abilities. I have taken French for 3 years in college as well as 2 years in high school. Studying French in France is an extrordinary opportunity.

I am very passionate about this project. Much of my college career has been dedicated to studying French from the beginning level language classes to doing research for the university about WWI in France. Funding this trip will help me become more proficient in French.

I should note that this campaign is not my only source of financing this trip. I am not asking for donations out of laziness, but rather to fill the gaps that I cannot fill on my own. I am being helped with a substancial merit scholarship from Norwich University. I have a 3.7 GPA which will allow me to seek further funding through scholarships and grants. I also have a steady job at a pharmacy which I have had for 4 years. Believe me, I would not ask for donations if I did not feel I had to.

I fully intend on doccumenting this trip through social media posts including Youtube videos, Facebook posts, and sharing photos of my travels on Instagram. I will link all of these platforms as my departure date gets closer.

Any amount of money can help! I have never been more excited about my education. Help my achive my goal and donate today!
