the honeymoon we couldn't afford
My Travel Story
Charlotte, 7 years older, was an elementary school teacher. She too had experienced a difficult separation, with an ex-partner who did everything to limit her meetings with her 13-year-old daughter. Laura had found strength in her work and in the support of her friends, but she always felt an emptiness on the days when she couldn't hug her little girl.
Their meeting was through mutual friendships, a mutual look beyond an exchange of chat about their past experiences and a shy smile that pushed them to talk to each other. Their similar stories immediately brought them together, finding comfort in sharing the hardships and pain they had both experienced. The conversations began to get deeper and deeper, and they discovered they had many common passions, from books to travel.
After several months of dating, Rob and Charlotte decided to move in together. Their home became a refuge, a place where they could truly be themselves, away from the complications of their previous lives. Over time, they decided to get married, a simple but meaningful ceremony, surrounded by the few friends and family who had supported their journey.
Despite ongoing problems with their ex-partners, Rob and Charlotte supported each other. They organized their lives to maximize the time they could spend with their children, making every moment special. Their love was a beacon of hope and resilience, a demonstration that, despite the difficulties of the past, it was possible to find happiness again.
