My Travel Story

My name is Juli Church, and I was accepted to go on a Costa Rica Animal Care in San Jose. This trip will give me an opportunity to expand my knowledge on how to help and learn more about numerous types of animals. This trip is a dream of mine and I hope that I get to pursue my passion for animals.

More about me is that I am a Junior in high school, and I am one of the lucky few to be a part of the Advanced Career Education Veterinary Sciences course. I have experience with animals in and outside of my classroom, I've had many pets such as cats, birds, dogs, lizards, cats, bunnies, and fish. My family continues to foster and help cats, and I get to help them find homes. 

Animals have always sparked my curiosity and I'm eager to learn more about them. My true love for animals started when I helped save sick kittens, I was only in elementary school when I found 5 small kittens by the side of the road, my first thought was to keep them away from the road. I gathered all of them and took them home to tell my mom. My grandmother who is part of an organization called Meow Stories helped find them safe homes, and now one of those kittens lives healthy in my home. I love reading and learning more about the animals that surround me. I have had pets my entire life and I grew up fostering animals. I became more interested in animal care and medicine after attending the Veterinary Science ACE Summer Polytech.
