My Travel Story

by: Fadhil Khan Start Date: Mar 8, 2023 - End Date: Jul 7, 2023
Hellow everyone :-)) studying abroad in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will provide the opportunity for me to expand my knowledge on the Criminal Justice System and understand how laws affect our communities differently. This program will take on the Kenyan perspective in comparison to the Malaysians'; providing an opportunity to come to an understanding of their 'rationale and tradition of tolerance, diversity, and consensus-base politics'. This is an opportunity for me to grow intellectually, culturally and perceptually. My wish is that by having this experience, it can lead to the development of new concepts on how to make Kenya a better place. This global experience will also teach me about unfamiliar locations or customs; learn different approaches, how to communicate effectively with diverse groups, and develop an ease of adapting. This is an immeasurable experience that I hope will help me to develop into a better student, professional and man.
Although the idea of going abroad is a dream come true, financial circumstances have set me back and put me at risk of missing out on such a life-changing opportunity. As a Kenyan man, it is far too familiar why some Kenyans struggle to succeed. At this point in my life, I cannot afford to contribute to the necessary expenses for the study abroad program such as airfare, baggage fees etc. Unfortunately, I do not want the lack of access to means and resources to lead to a lost opportunity. With such experience, I will be able to give my generation and the one after a new sight of success; the numerous doors that I can open by my hard work and dedication speaks deeply to me. I want this valuable experience in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where I know I will recieve skills to assist me in making a difference in changing similar issues and identifying potential linkages in our Judicial System. Thank you so much!
