My Travel Story

Anis, a 20-year-old former Muslim living in Algeria, who is in desperate need of our help. Anis is living in extreme terror among an extremist Salafi Muslim family and is forced to pray with his father 5 times a day in the mosque. If he doesn't comply, he risks being kicked out of his house with no means of independence, and he can't find work in his poor African country.

Anis is currently fasting during Ramadan out of fear and force. If he doesn't fast, he risks being beaten, imprisoned, or worse. He thinks about suicide every day and has attempted it twice, but thankfully failed. Anis has discovered FundMyTravel and sees it as a glimmer of hope. He is in desperate need of funds to be able to escape to France and leave his miserable life behind.

Anis is tired of the religious pressures, hypocrisy, and duties that he performs daily, such as prayer and fasting, even though he no longer believes in them. If his father discovers that he has left Islam, he will literally kill him. He needs our help to travel to France and start a new life, away from the abuse and terror he experiences daily.
