My Travel Story

This summer, i'll be spending 8 weeks volunteering in Africa, working hands-on in childcare and early education programs that focus on creating safe, nurturing spaces for children. For 56 days, i'll have the oppurtunity to support local caregivers, assist in classrooms, and help provide the attention, laughter, and love every child deserves! 
I'm currently a sophomore undergraduate at The University of Tennessee at Martin I'm majoring in K-5 education, and this experience will be more than a trip, but have such a meaningful impact on my education and future career! I'm passionate about working with children and creating spaces where they feel seen, heard and most importantly, valued. Volunteering aborad allows me to connect what i've learn in the classroom to real-life impact. 
I chose this destination because i wanted to serve in a community where childcare resources are limited, and where even small acts of service can make a lasting difference. My goal is not only to help the chidlren but to learn from the people, traditions, and resilience that make these communities so inspiring
