My Travel Story

Hello friends, family, and supporters,

Next year, my son will be graduating high school a huge milestone that he has worked so hard to reach. As his mom, I want to celebrate this achievement in a way that is truly meaningful to him.

Ever since he was little, he has been fascinated by Japan. From the rich traditions and history, to the vibrant pop culture and anime he’s grown up loving, Japan has always been his dream destination. He often tells me how much he wishes he could see the cherry blossoms in bloom, visit Akihabara, and experience the culture he admires so deeply.

As a graduation gift, I want to take him on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan a journey that will not only celebrate his success but also inspire him as he steps into the next chapter of his life.

Travel can be expensive, and as a single parent it’s not always easy to make dreams like this happen. That’s why I’m asking for your help. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward flights, lodging, and experiences in Japan.

This trip will be more than just a vacation. It’s about rewarding my son for his hard work, honoring his love of Japanese culture, and creating unforgettable memories that we’ll share forever.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me give him this gift. Your support means the world to us both.
We want every dollar raised to go directly toward making this dream trip a reality. Here’s how the funds will be used:

Flights (2 round-trip tickets): $2,200
Getting us from the U.S. to Tokyo (and back!) will be the biggest part of our budget.

Lodging (10 nights): $1,500
Affordable but comfortable hotels so we can rest and recharge while exploring Japan.

Transportation (rail passes, local transit): $500
Japan’s trains are incredible, and a rail pass will allow us to see more cities outside of Tokyo.

Food & Meals: $800
From sushi to ramen to bento boxes, this will let us taste the culture he’s fallen in love with.

Cultural Experiences & Activities: $1,000
Entrance to museums, anime districts like Akihabara, a tea ceremony, temples, and hopefully even a day trip to Kyoto.

Emergency/Buffer: $500
For unexpected expenses that might pop up along the way.

Total Goal: $6,500

With love and gratitude,
Reva King
