I am a young single mother working on getting accepted into a radiology program. My son Kai is 16 but will be 17 by June 9th 2025 when we intend to travel to Europe. 

He's shown an interest in history & I figured I have very little time left before he is 18 & busy with life & now is the time to take him on a 6 week backpacking trip to Europe to learn about other cultures & explore his Italian & German heritage. 

I want him to start out his adult life with a foundation of knowledge of other cultures & other ways of life. To help him in this he is currently learning the Italian language in preparation for our trip, as we intend to spend a lot of time there. 

I feel like this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am very focused on doing everything I can to make it happen! I've been driving Uber as often as I can & trying to pay down debt in preparation for this trip.
