My Travel Story

Greetings,I’m Zina from Gaza, Palestine. I am writing under the war here in Gaza as you know. Everything was perfect for us in Gaza, we were forcibly moved to a poor camp in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. We couldn’t sell any of my father’s remaining property in Gaza. We could just take our car and drive away. My father was a professor and an architect at the university, my brother had graduated from medical school this year, my sister and I studied computer engineering and had a beautiful house with a beautiful view of the sea. I will attach a picture of it  . Unfortunately, the house was damaged and not even livable anymore, our house is still on the north side, we stayed on the south side. Everything was fine and life was very stable and moving towards a bright future for me and my family, until war broke out and stopped and destroyed everything after all these forced displacements and now  There is a threat of a ground military operation in Rafah. Sudden explosions daily, the neighbors screaming because someone was injured by shrapnel or missing someone, my two years old brother crying in terror and we couldn’t explain to him what was happening around him, the house and floor shook. The situation here is so disastrous and words cannot describe it. The unbearable horrors of war, the constant bloodshed and the terrifying sounds of explosions have left us exhausted and depressed . Our mental health has deteriorated, and we can no longer bear the burden of the situation. The closest description of what I am experiencing is as if it were a nightmare from the night of October 6th to the present day, and the seventh of October has not yet arrived. I want to wake up from it!!!! .Peace and quiet are essential to our well-being. I think these are the basic needs of every healthy person . Fear of an imminent ground attack by enemy forces led us to seek refuge outside the country. We are desperately trying to get to Egypt before disaster strikes. However, travel expenses exceed our limited funds, and our property by definition, remains in the country. Our family of 9 faces travel expenses of $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child, for a total of approximately $40,000. Check out the prices. After we sold our car, we still had $30,000. We exhausted our options and set up a GoFundMe account, but the money we raised wasn’t enough. I am in desperate need of help and even a small donation would be greatly appreciated. Time is of the essence, as the travel approval process can cause delays of more than three weeks . Please help me wake up from this nightmare .Believe me, your help, no matter how small, won’t change the world, but it will change the world for the whole family and save us all.
