Hi! My name is Hollis and I am currently pursuing a bachlor's degree in Biology at the University of Hawaii. I am taking French as a secondary language and I have been offered the chance to study abroad at the Institut Francais de Alpes in Annecy, France this summer. I have always wanted to learn French and visit France. The program will give me the chance to fulfill my bucket list and further my educational goals. I will earn credits that will complete the language requirements for my graduation. I will be immersed in French culture and and improve my French every day. In addition to the French aspect, I will learn communication skills and independence, and be able to meet new friends. There will be excursions on weekends to different historical sites. In the future, as a pharmacist, I can give medical advice to new immigrants from France. I am excited to go to France and know it will be a life changing experience. I believe that learning new languages and cultures are important in life because it shows the variety and uniqueness of every country. It is also a great exercise for the brain to think and process information. I am applying for scholarships, but the study abroad program is costly. Any amount donated is appreciated and will be used towards my education. Merci! (Thank you!)
