I chose to go to Alicante, Spain because I am a Hospitality and Tourism Management major at Virginia Tech. Alicante is known for being a European tourist destimation which will give me the first-handed experience I am looking for. I will be able to go to one of the top 5 Hospitality schools in the world and personally witness how the city accomodates for all of the different cultures and types of people from all over the world. This will further my education because as a Junior, everything I have learned in the classroom over the past three years, I can see in the real-world. I want to learn more about eco-tourism and sustainability within the tourism industry and living in a city known for this will give me the out of the classroom learning experience I am seeking.
