Help me help them!
My Travel Story
My name is Amie and I am a full time student taking travel and tourism. One day I hope to travel the world, and make a difference in peoples lives along the way, even if it's just a small one.
In November I was fortunate enough to go to Cuba for two weeks, where I met some really incredible people there who need help. It is my goal in life to get back there to them as soon as possible and bring them as many things as I can that they need. Simple things that we take for granted!
My friends here in the band make an avg of 40CUC (which works out to about 53 dollars Canadian) a month, which they split 3 ways. One of them has type 1 diatbetes. He doesn't have access to simple things like bandaids, alcohol wipes or polysporin. I'd like to bring him some simple medical supplies.
Another friend was playing a guitar that had the neck screwed together in 2 places and although it needed to be tuned again every 4 minutes, he still played it happily because he was just happy to own a guitar. I'd like to bring him an unbroken one so he can actually play for tips to help improve his life in general. He didn't ask for this, he didn't ask for anything, but I would like to be able to help if I can.
A lady that works the front desk has an autistic son who is in his mid-20s and non verbal who likes anything that makes noise. In Cuba there isn't really much in the way of therapy for special needs, but I have list of things that at least could make his life a bit happier and easier. (feel free to ask me about specifics if you'd like)
Things we take for granted like tampons and maxi-pads are hard to come by and very expensive for women in Cuba and sometimes women have to miss work because of their periods. This is not ok!
This is just a few of the people I have met that could use help. I have a list of about 20 people that could use the most basic things (like a windbreaker jacket for the stormy season, backpacks for when they have to travel 2 hours plus a day to get to and from work, etc) Please, if you can, help me help them.
Please help me get back to these wonderful people and help them as much as I possibly can!

Suitcases
I have been gifted one large and one small suitcase to bring. One is already filled with clothing that has been donated to me, and a whole bunch of tampons. I have a few sets of guitar strings as well, but still looking for an acoustic guitar to bring down and a ton of other things, including cash. Please help if you can! -
Cash For Christmas!
To be completely transparent, I have been able to make some cash over the holidays (and received some as gifts) so I have about $400 to put towards this trip so far.
