My Travel Story

Dear Compassionate Hearts,

I hope this message finds you all well. I am writing to share a deeply personal and heartfelt endeavor, one that means the world to my family and I, and I humbly ask for your support and empathy.

The fundraiser I am embarking upon is aimed at fulfilling a dream that has been on hold for far too long. My husband, a native of South Korea, has not had the opportunity to visit his homeland in many years. To make this journey even more special, we recently welcomed our first child into the world-- a source of immense joy and excitement, not only for us but also for my husband's parents, who have become grandparents for the very first time!

The challenge we face is the considerable cost associated with traveling as a family of three, arranging care for our beloved cats while we are away, and managing our regular bills and responsibilities during our absence. Additionally, my husband's parents, eagarly awaiting the arrival of their grandchild, wish for us to stay for an extended period of at least two months so they can bond with our little one before we return back to the United States.

The person I am most eager to introduce our baby to is my husband's grandmother - a remarkable woman who has been awaiting this moment for a long long time. She is slowly but surely losing her eyesight, and while she may not admit it, her ability to see is diminishing. We are praying fervently that we can make the journey before her vision fades entirely.

The trip holds profound meaning for me, as it would bring immeasurable joy to my husband and allow him to reconnect with his family after too many years apart. While he now calls the United States his home, his heart remains with his family in South Korea, and the pangs of homesickness have grown stronger as we realize our families are so far away.

I aspire to offer my husband this gift of reuniting with his family, particularly his beloved grandmother, who longs to see her grandson and great grandchild. Your generous support will enable us to make this journey and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime. In return, I promise to pay this kindness forward to someone else in need, perpetuating the cycle of compassion and empathy.

Your consideration and support mean the world to us. Thank you from the depths of our hearts for helping us bring this dream to life.

With profound gratitude,
Stacy
