Hello! I'm beyond excited to have been accepted into the IVHQ program for 2025! I have been given a very exciting opportunity to go over to Kenya for 3 weeks volunteering in special needs care. 

As a Special Needs Care volunteer i will be providing hands-on support and care and help with disability education for families and local communities.

As volunteer on this project I will be assisting with daily hands-on support and disability education among families and local communities. Due to lack of support and education around disability awareness in Kenya, many disabled children and adults are hidden from public view by their families. This project provides much needed support to local staff and placements that are underfunded and under resourced.

International volunteering has given me the chance to see different cultures, environments, meet new people from around the world, Improving care and social inclusion for people with disabilities, Supporting education for people with disabilities, Developing my communication skills and Gaining experience caring for disabled people.
