Old Life. New Chapter
My Travel Story
You know how people say "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade." Well, life has thrown a lot of lemons my way this past year. I have been taking care of my mother for the past ten years and earning a little money as a dog sitter on the side. My mother passed away last October and now I'm about to loose my home and my doggy business.
I'm in my 50's and the thought of starting over is terrifying to me. I considered going into teaching many years ago, but life got in the way. So now I am going to Costa Rica to get certified to Teach English as a Foreign Langauge.
I chose Costa Rica because their qualifications for TESL teachers are not as strict as some other countries and there is a large market for these teachers and tutors.
Once I am certified I am hoping to be placed in a school where I can teach at risk youth. I have some experience with this and find this work extremely rewarding.
I am expected to have enough money to live on for 6 weeks until I can find work. Not to mention my tuition and travel expenses.
I would be most gratefull for any donation!
