Hello everyone! 

I am studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain this summer. I will be studying at a Barcelona university through a University of California Education Abroad Program. I will be taking four courses that will count towards my Bachelors Degree in History. Studying abroad will help me greatingly in my educational career to be a teacher. Learning about a history and a culture in that same country will make me understand what I am learning on another level. For example, I remember when went to Yucatán Mexico, I was taking Mexican history. I was able to retain and critically think about what I learned in my class and use it to the real world. In addition I learned more about my indeginous culture and heritage. I assume learning in Spain will do the same Because I also have Spanish heritage in me. I also plan to further my soccer coaching career while I am in Barcelona by taking a coaching course and volunteering at a soccer club there. Learning the Spanish style of soccer in Spain will help me learn new tactics and tricks for my coaching when I get back. 

I have wanted to study in another country ever since high school and I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to go!
