Moving to Japan to teach English and study :)
My Travel Story
My name is Fef, I am 27 years old and was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I am the daughter of immigrants that came to the U.S from Nicaragua. Latinx & indigenous descent, I am on a mission to help those with mental health issues and social issues using the fields of psychology and philosophy. My mission is to help those, especially in marginalized groups to have a quality of life that presents dignity to all. Main studies of focus include cross-cultural anthropological studies and Global relations with the progressive movement of humankind. Not only would I like to help others I would like to research and study abroad. I just graduated with my Bachelors in Psychology from Florida International University, and plan on getting my Masters in Japan. Why Japan you say? There are a number of reasons but the one that speaks to me the most is the challenge of the absurd and the level of uncomfortableness I want to experience. Change does not come to those that are complacent in what they’re used to. I want to challenge myself and experience a world that isn’t my norm. I am focusing my attention on actively learning Japanese before I begin my studies and will begin my Research thesis once I am accepted into a study program. Intertwining with my own research I have also ventured off into the venue of teaching English as a foreign language. I thought to myself that how could one possibly study culture or communicate if there’s a language barrier in between? You could, but it would get very difficult. So I have dedicated 120 hours to become certified to teach English as a second language, I am currently certified with my TELF and was just hired to work full time in Japan as an English teacher so please if you’re so kind as to help me save for my move I would greatly appreciate it, I currently work full time as a medical assistant, electronic scribe, and Surgical technician for a hospital. I am able to save money but I work full time and during the COVID-19 pandemic, I am putting myself at risk daily in order to work. Please help me save for my move I would greatly appreciate it moving to a whole new country is expensive.
For years I have had dreams that I could not pursue due to the unfortunate circumstances that life usually brings. Some things within my control, some out of it. Either way, I still prevail. I will work for the next year saving as well, work in Japan, then apply for a Master's Program in Japan. As you can tell it will cost a lot and I am more than willing to do what I can to get it done. If you’re willing to help invest in some ambition I would appreciate any little thing. My goal is to save double this amount in order to make sure my cost of living and travel is covered and I plan to work and live there for 1-2 years. Thank you so very much.
