My Travel Story

Hi all! 

About a year ago, I had this crazy idea that I wanted to start teaching English in Asia. Southeast Asia, specifically. After another big trip over there, I'm taking the plunge. There is a great need for English teachers all of the world, but also in Asia specifically.

SE Asia holds a very special place in my heart. The people are warm and friendly and will instantly take you in as family. The children are so curious and seeing their eyes light up when you interact with them, is what has made this my driving passion. Most get by with very little but still lead happy lives and being able to teach the gift of English will only open more opportunities for this region in the world. Not to mention, it is beautiful. Although the constant sounds of motorbikes and tuk tuks roaming the streets isn't for everyone, it's something that I love.

I'm currently enrolled in a TEFL program (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) with a completion date in February 2020. I will be able to immediately (almost) start teaching online and being an independent travel agent along with my current full time job to supplement my income to prepare for my big move. The only downside to the Asia teaching market is that most employers require face to face interviews which will mean some initial traveling that can add up quick. Any little bit will help me get to my goal to educate people in my favorite part of the world!
