My Travel Story

I am a single mom of 4, and it has been a struggle without doubt, but my youngest is 12, plenty old enough to be cognizent of culture or lack of. We live in Maine, we suffer a lack of cultural experiences, and my kids look different than the majority and I would like them to eperience places where they don't. I would like them to learn that the way things are here isn't the way they are everywhere, and the American version of things is far from superior in many instances. The only way to truly learn about other cultures is to experience them. I also find myself longing to see Ireland, England, France and Germany as I KNOW this is my heritage, where my ancestors come from, ut my children do not know these things about their fathers' side, so we would like to learn as much and experience as much as possile of the continent we know their ancestors were stolen from. Travel makes better people and we desperately need some of that.
