My Travel Story

I am a 46 year-old woman living in Kansas. In October 2021 I had to have all my teeth pulled out due to the decaying happening from genetics and a medication that I take every day to stay alive.
Because of that medication, I lost a lot of bone. Including my upper jaw. Which means I’m unable to wear dentures because there is not enough gum tissue due to the bone loss to hold them in place.
With that being said, I found a surgeon who specializes in zygomatic dental implants. This means, they will put the implants in my cheekbones on the upper side. Since my lower jaw is still in good shape, they will not have a problem with the implants as normal there. My surgery is fully covered. Which is a blessing.
I will be going to Smart Arches dental implant center in Media, Pennsylvania. The problem is, I don’t have the funds to travel.
I live on Social Security disability. And it’s not very much. in fact, my last check was only $113 because they miscalculated and I’m still waiting for what they owe me. my check before that was only $851. This does not even cover my basic bills.
Because I am having surgery I am required to take a companion with me for at least the first 24 hours. This means, I have to pay for their travel expenses as well. This is where it starts to get a little bit more expensive.
Taking the train is cheaper than flying, round-trip is around $762 for two people. The cheapest hotel I found is still about $1200 for eight days. The reason I have to stay eight days is because I am having surgery and they will need to do a follow up in that first week. After surgery and the follow up, I will be able to leave with a temporary set of dental implant arches and have a new smile while my implants heal.
I am needing to raise at least $2500 for my first trip. There will be subsequent trips, but right now I am only concerned about getting there and having my surgery.

I am asking for $2500 because I want to make sure there’s a cushion in case of any emergencies that arise such as with travel back-and-forth from the dental implant center to the hotel or the train station.

My journey online via my YouTube, and if you are interested in following my journey, I will be glad to share my link to my YouTube upon request.

I am hoping to have the funds raised by the end of February at the very latest.  Before I lose any more bone, it’s in my best interest to have the surgery sooner than later.
I am very grateful for all that you can do to help me achieve this life-changing medical procedure.
