“Act as if what you do makes a difference… it does”
My Travel Story
My name is Martina, I have 18 I am studying to become an educator and work with children in a state of discomfort or neglect. I love traveling, learning about new cultures, and being in contact with people (especially children).
I made my first volunteer trip when I was 16. I went to Kenya and fell in love with it. From that moment on, in all my travels, even those of pleasure or with my family, I dedicated a small part to volunteering, visiting orphanages, and shelters... and donating or contributing as much as possible.
I’m going to Cape Town, South Africa this year to volunteer at a kindergarten. These are particular and delicate realities that need help and visibility. I would like to bring school and educational materials to children. Every cost of travel is at my expense, but I would like to raise funds to be able to buy stationery, books, games...
I am sure that even the presence of volunteers has a great impact on the lives of children who, in this way, can get the attention and care they need. But I think providing them with material to study and play with can help even more. I hope you can help me with this project.
Thank you for attention.
Martina.
