Medical Student on a Mission
My Travel Story
My name is Shannon Alsobrooks, and I’m just three months away from a lifelong dream—graduating medical school and stepping into residency. It’s been a journey of dedication, perseverance, and passion for healing. But before I take that next step, there’s one experience I’ve always longed for—serving on a medical mission trip.
For years, I’ve envisioned using my skills to help communities in need, and now, I finally have the chance. I’ve spent the last four years working to develop my Spanish language skills through online courses, knowing that true fluency comes from immersion. Now, I have the opportunity to travel to Antigua—not just as a visitor, but as a medical volunteer, providing care to those who need it most.
This experience is more than just a trip—it’s a chance to grow, to learn, and to give back before embarking on the most rigorous chapter of my career. But I can’t do it alone—I need a little help to make this dream a reality.
If you believe in the power of service, in the impact of compassionate care, and in the importance of global outreach, I’d be so grateful for your support. Every bit of help brings me closer to this incredible opportunity.
Thank you for being a part of my journey!
Sincerely,
Shannon Alsobrooks
