My Travel Story

I'm a Freshman at the George Washington University pursuing a BA in Asian Studies. I was recently accepted into the Shanghai Global Bachelor's program - a competitive study abroad program that goes to Shanghai and two other locations over the course of undergraduate school. I want to immerse myself in the culture and language, and reintroduce myself to the place where I was born. My identity as a Chinese adoptee originally inspired me to study Asia. Since then, I have discovered a more professional interest in the area of study. I want to focus on the role of Confucianism in society and its transformation throughout the 20th century in Mainland China and its peripheral countries. This program is an incredible opportunity for me to not only explore China, but also to gain a genuine insight into the culture.
