My Travel Story

Instructional Premise  : HERE'S WHY THIS IS HELPFUL TO STUDENTS

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, it is critical for our students to become more culturally aware and globally-minded.  To be able to experience the global classroom first-hand and see what they have been studying in their classes come to life is life-changing and gives them new perspectives not only of themselves but also the world around them.

Staff at YES Prep Gulfton and other YES campuses have planned an experiential learning experience for students to Costa Rica in June 2016. Here's the travel objectives and itinerary. Financially, the need for our students is great and so is the benefit per dollar here too.

Students will be able to discover a perfect balance of adventure, service and ecology in Costa Rica. Students will treat their senses to rich aromas at a coffee roastery in San José and sweet delights at a pineapple plantation in Sarapiquí. In Monteverde, our group will feel the thrill of a canopy adventure before visiting a local school.

At Braulio Carillo National Park, we'll take in the breathtaking biodiversity and geological wonders. Earth University will help our students seek answers to the questions they have on an international scale.

It will be an incredible opportunity to learn about world history, art, and culture in a real-world setting and with your help, we're so excited to share this amazing experiential learning opportunity with our students!
