My Travel Story

I am currently a junior double majoring in Zoology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Maine in Orono. Anyone who knows me know that I have a thirst for adventure and crazy new experiences. I am beyond excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to make it one of the most memorable times of my life. I love being outdoors and exploring the world. What better a place to do this than in the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand?

Next semester from February 17th to June 24th I will be attending the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. The courses (called papers in NZ) that I am taking will be mostly ecological related. I am hoping to use this opportunity to increase my network and get to know more people in the fields that eventually I am hoping to gain a career in. Science has always been an enormous passion in my life and I think that this unique experience will be an important factor in my future career development.

I strongly believe that traveling is something that everybody with the chance should do. Exposing yourself to new cultures, ways of life, and discovering the vastness of our planet are very humbling to me and help with personal growth. "Travel far enough, you meet yourself." -David Mitchell.

Any donations of any amount are GREATLY appreciated. I am going to be using all money collected towards my program payments to pay for my tuition and housing and everything. In addition I will be using it for airfare and other transportation costs (plane tickets aren't cheap!).
