My Travel Story

I have been with Colleen, for 2 and a half years. We are very happy together and I want to make her the happiest girl in the world with the perfect proposal. She has always loved Disney because like all of us, we want to always keep that child version of ourselves. Making this trip to propose will mean the world to me and her. My brother and I were born with something called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. That is when one twin is getting more blood and oxygen from the umbilical cord than the other twin. In this case, I was getting too much while my brother was getting too little. The doctors told my parents that there was only a 2 percent chance of survival so they explained to them that funeral plans will more than likely be needed. As time went by, the doctors then tried to explain that one twin could be saved and if so, we would have many physical and mental differences. My parents said no, and that they want us both so that was not an option. More time went by and the day came, September 20, 1992. We were born. Kasey, my brother, was born 10 minutes before me. Everyone was astonished to see that he was perfectly fine! 10 minutes later, out came this guy, however, something was different. My left leg did not fully grow. While in the womb, I somehow managed to wrap my leg around the umbilical cord. This allowed the process of blood and oxygen to reach me more slowly and allowed more to be sent to Kasey, thus providing healthy levels for him and I. I now live with a prosthetic leg. Every time I hear this story I tear up. I'm tearing up right now. My parents explain it so much better but they watched it all happen. God works in mysterious ways and such a miracle like this keeps me believing. This left me with a leg that wasn't fully developed but it has never slowed me down. Through my 23 years of living, I have played sports and participated in everything just like everyone else. Then in college, I met this girl, the one that want to spend the rest of my life with. We both met during a time where we both got out of a relationship. As we got to talking and getting to know each other, we could see that we fit together just right. I love this girl with all of my heart and I want us to be able to travel to Orlando, Florida, to experience great summer weather and attend Disney World for a week in December. There, I will propose and make Colleen the happiest girl in the world. Please help me do that and I will be forever grateful. Thank you for everything.
