As a documentary photographer, I have been asked to join a team of scientists, social consultants and media professionals that are embarking on a extraordinary expedition in the Karakoram mountains of Pakistan in July. Our aim is to research, document and help local communities affected by the global warming issue of  Glacial Outburst Floods (GLOF) in this region. Our footstep of this one-month expedition is not only to bring awareness to this important issue, but also to equip the community with the tech and policy tools needed to avoid future glacial catastrophes in this mountainous region (by installing a warning system in case of such outburst, which could save many lives).

Throughout my career as a photographer the past years, I have been largely involved in documenting social projects around the world. Most of the times, I've been focusing on outskirt societies, that are hardly heard of, by portraying and publishing their stories and putting some spotlight and importance on these people and their lives that differ so much from our modern society.

This project aims at both documenting the critical situation of the region in order to gain awareness for future humanitarian aid support, as well as to provide hands-on solutions to the community and other regions facing a similar natural catastrophe problems due to global warming.
Such types of expeditions are expensive, primarily due their accessibility to reach the affected areas as well as the self-supplying. A lot has to be invested in equipment, food and travel expenses of which the team has been able to raise a little funding through well-known sponsors.
However, so far, such funding can only cover the team expenses on site. In order to be part of this passionate team and important expedition,  and to document such powerful project, I need to get to Pakistan.
If you help me fund my travels to Pakistan, you will give me the opportunity to document this highly important project with a social and environmental impact in order to bring it to the world with my stories.
