My Travel Story

Small town life. As someone who grew up in a rural town with a population no bigger than 1700 people and attended a high school with K-12 in the same building there has always been a burning passion to travel the world inside of me. Although thankful for that little town and the memories created within the middle of the corn fields, I am in college now and want to jump at every opportunity before me. I have been accepted to a study abroad trip in Italy through the Purdue University College of Agriculture where we will be immersing ourselves in the Italian culture through food production, marketing, and preparation experiences during the Summer of 2022. Currently I am a sophomore studying agribusiness management and crop science, so I chose this course to learn about agriculture production outside of the United States. I believe this trip will provide me with a better understanding and new perspective of food production as I experience an industry that I have been involved with my entire life in a new culture. As a young professional new experiences and leaping out of comfort zone are vital to my growth through college and into the workforce.
