My Travel Story

Dear community, I am really excited about the next volunteering project I am about to venture in!  I am planning to go to Bolivia where I will be volunteering in an isolated rural area in the Bolivian Amazonas , teaching English to kids of low income families and orphans. 
As someone who is coming from an isolated rural area myself, I know how important education is in order to achieve your goals in life and find a professional career. I have learned that English is one of the crucial elements for professional realisation. I have been fortunate enough to have excellent English teachers and now I wish to transfer my skills to children of isolated areas. 
As a certified English teacher with 3+ years of experience, I would now like to become part of a project which would not bring me any financial benefits but an enourmos moral satisfaction instead. I am happy that part of the program fees will directly go to the community needs. 
I chose Bolivia because it is one of the least developped countries on the territory of South America. With the highest rate of poverty per population amongst Surinam and Venezuela, living conditions in Bolivia are below average and unfortunately this affects the level of education. And last but not least, I have always been attracted to the culture of Bolivia, knowing that it is one of the countries in South America with richest history and tradition. I belive that this adventure would enrich me as a person and hopefully I would make a difference in the local community!
