Hi~! I’m sixteen and currently a sophomore in high school. I know you might find this irrelevant, but I am interested in attending a Korean summer program this, well, summer. The program is a reliable program that organizes your whole trip for you, but the problem for me is the lack of money. There are scholarships available which I plan to apply for, but even then, it’s still a bit to costly for me and my family. Making this trip come true will mean a whole lot to me since I have been studying and learning Korean and Korean culture for about a year now, and being accepted and being able to afford the program will definitely help me a lot. Before I completely settle on choosing to move across the ocean to (attempt) attending Korea University, I would find it helpful to be able to experience it to get my overall opinions about the country. I also believe that this trip will help me become more independent and help me to develop my own person and frankly, it could be a breath of fresh air. I come from a place where the biggest attraction is a cinema unless you are willing to drive 2 hours to an arcade, but when you are sixteen, the chances of doing so are very limited. I am really trying to search for jobs, but in the meantime, this is all I can do to since the town I am from doesn’t really have much job opportunities for teenagers. To be honest, even if I end up with even $1, I’ll be so honored and happy. Thank you for your time. ♡
