My Travel Story

by: Carlo Fajota Start Date: Oct 3, 2025 - End Date: Feb 2, 2026
Hello!
I'm Carlo. I'm a second-generation immigrant child who lives in Hawaii. I have 2 other siblings, 1 who went off to college in the mainland, and 1 who joined the military. Both my siblings left the island while I stayed here. Recently, I just lost my dad to lung cancer. As a second-generation immigrant child who also was the only child here to take care of his parents, I took responsibility to helping my parents because I loved and cared for them. Through that, I also started a business, worked full-time jobs, and pursued different dreams. I always had the goal in mind to become as successful as possible so that I can prove to my parents that what they had sacrificed was worth it so that I can be the person that I always imagined myself to be and more. Losing my dad was the hardest thing that ever happened to me and I think about it everyday how much more I shouldve done in my life so that I couldve been successful before he left us. I have made the decision to go to Japan, to not only have my experience to live life without the help of my friends and family, but to also expand my business in another country and find out the connections I can make to scale it bigger.
Thank you so much for hearing my story and with your help, I can get closer to the person I wish I was before my dad passed.
