My Travel Story

by: Lalet Go Travelling Start Date: Sep 27, 2024 - End Date: Mar 26, 2025
Hello, fellow explorers!
We are Leticia and Laura, two travelers with a deep passion for cultural immersion and meaningful connections. Our latest adventures will take us from the vibrant celebrations and cuisine of Jalisco, Mexico, to the diverse landscapes of Buenos Aires and Chubut, Argentina. Our slow nomadic journey is all about experiencing life through the stories, traditions, and wisdom of the people we meet along the way.
Our goal is to embrace slow travel by truly engaging with the people and cultures of Mexico and Argentina. From learning how to make traditional Mexican dishes like mole from locals, to exploring the stunning Argentine landscapes, this journey is about connecting with others through food, storytelling, and cultural exchange. We’ll capture these experiences through photography and writing, sharing the richness of human connection with you.
Our Journey:
We’ll begin our journey in Jalisco, Mexico, spending 2 to 3 months experiencing iconic cultural moments like the Day of the Dead celebrations in Tlaquepaque in November, as well as Christmas and New Year’s traditions. We’ll explore Guadalajara, known for its lively mariachi music, visit the birthplace of tequila in the town of Tequila, and immerse ourselves in the artisan traditions of Tonalá. We’ll also indulge in local dishes like pozole, birria, and tamales, while exploring scenic natural spots like Lake Chapala.
After Mexico, we’ll head to Argentina, where we’ll spend another 2 to 3 months in Buenos Aires and Chubut. In Buenos Aires, we’ll explore its vibrant culture, including a visit to the colorful La Boca neighborhood and the famous Caminito street. We’ll attend a tango show and visit iconic landmarks like Plaza de Mayo. In Chubut, we’ll slow down to appreciate the wild landscapes of Patagonia, visit Gaiman for a taste of its Welsh heritage, and marvel at the marine life on the Valdés Peninsula, where we may spot whales, seals, and penguins.
What Makes Our Campaign Unique:
Slow and Meaningful Travel:
We believe in taking the time to deeply experience each place we visit. From the cultural landmarks of Jalisco to the diverse regions of Argentina, our journey will focus on connecting with local communities through shared experiences and traditions.
Celebration of Human Connection:
Our journey centers on the stories of the people we meet, whether it’s over a plate of empanadas in Buenos Aires or a cup of Mexican coffee in Guadalajara. We’ll highlight the diversity of perspectives, traditions, and wisdom we encounter, offering a vivid cultural portrait of each destination.
A Journey Without Boundaries:
We’re committed to an authentic experience of discovery. While we don’t make specific promises about what will unfold, we invite you to share in our journey as it happens. Through our stories, photography, and updates, we’ll offer a genuine glimpse into the places and people we encounter.
By supporting our campaign, you’re helping us continue this journey of cultural exploration and connection in Mexico and Argentina. Your contributions will cover travel and living expenses as we immerse ourselves in local traditions, from tasting tacos al pastor in Jalisco to exploring the breathtaking vistas of Patagonia. We’ll share regular updates, photos, and reflections, inviting you to experience these vibrant cultures with us. Your support will enable us to document and share the unique stories of the people we meet in Mexico and Argentina, focusing on how food, music, and traditions bring communities together. With your help, we’ll capture and share the heart of these countries, showcasing the richness of human connection that transcends borders.
