It is said that volunenteering is one of  the best things to do in life, and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to spend 3 weeks this summer volunteering on a small island in Madagascar. I am looking to raise £1500 to help fund the project...

Whilst in Madagascar, I will be supporting the project by teaching English to children & young adults, construction of social buildings such as schools and hospitals and conducting marine conservation in the unspoilt Indian Ocean, helping implement fishing quotas, chart new waters and teach locals about conservation so that this idealic place remains an island paradise.

The money raised will support the project which will hugely help alleviate the effects of poverty that has ridden the nation of Madagascar, and truly help enhance the lives of the community that I will working closely with. It will offer youth a much more prospective future through the use of the English Language. By helping me, you will also be helping to champion the cause and spread awareness.

So who am I and why help me? I'm a 17 year old student from the north of England. I'm heading to Madagascar completely independently to offer my help to the underdeveloped world and also to prove my leadership, independence and communication skills which are so vital to my future aspiration of being a commercial airline pilot. Whilst aiding the people of Madagacsar, I hope that in the process everything I take away from the experience will aid me stand out from the competition when applying for scholarships and flight school. So by most importantly helping those less fortunate than yourselves, you'll be helping me as a result too.

I am hugely grateful for any donations and advice and rest assured that they will be well used.
