About Me
Hi! Welcome and thank you for visiting my profile page :) Here I write a little bit about myself and my little story about why I am here. "You have an appearance of a Japanese but a mind of a Dane." Funny enough, this is how my family and friends would describe me often. It all started with when I was around 12. I watched a travel grogram on TV which featured Denmark's capital city, Copenhagen. I still remember that I instantly got sucked into the screen, fascinated by the cityscape mixed with old buildings in pastel colours and modern buildings with glass walls. Also around at the same time because of my encounter with a renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, I got interested in architecture in general and how it relates to our daily life. Therefore, it all seemed natural for me to set a goal to live in Denmark and study architecture there. Once I made up my mind to do so, I attended a local high school in Denmark through a one-year exchange program when I was a high school student, and experienced living with a lovely Danish family. After experiencing actually living there, I was even more attracted to it, for this time especially, the kindness, friendliness, and generosity of the Danes. After returning to Japan, I attended the university in Japan where I could learn Danish to reach the language level required as a condition for admission to architecture school in Denmark. During my time at the university, I participated in an intensive language course at the University of Copenhagen during the summer vacation with a scholarship from the Danish government, and when the Danish Ambassador visited our university, I was honoured to represent the students in introducing him. Last year, in the second half of 2020, I studied architecture at a folk high school (folkehøjskole) in Denmark as part of my preparation for architecture school, and there I was convinced that I really like studying the subject and want to learn deeper and more. I graduated from university in Japan this past March and am currently preparing for the exams that will be held between April and June. Though, since I am a foreigner outside the EU, it costs me quite a lot (the tuition, airfare, and accommodation, etc). However, I do not want to give up on my BIG project that I have spent so much time and passion preparing for. Therefore, I would like to ask for your help in any way possible through this fundmytravel community! Sincerely, Nozomi nonozozo1330@gmail.com
