I have always lived by the quote 'be the change you want to see in the world', this not only means doing volunteer work, this includes being a good person and treating others how you would like to be treated. Having been fortunate enough to have grown up in the UK, sometimes you can get lost in the city lights and forget about the rest of the world and I am only human so I can admit that has been the case for many years. I am at a point in my life that I do not want to be lost or feel that I cannot help others because I am not in the best place in life. If the tables were turned I would appreciate even just someone to listen to my worries and even my crazy imaginative stories. So I have decided to pack my bags and head out to Tanzania where I will be helping to teach English to local schools and orphanages. I am excited and nervous for what the future holds for me and those amazing kids.
