I am a passionate learner and traveler, having logged almost 30 countries and five years living overseas, learned three foreign languages, and encountered countless amazing humans from all walks of life and corners of the globe. Currently, as a 9th grade Geography teacher, I get to share my travel experiences every day and it's the best job ever! I've never wanted to travel to just see the sights. I really want to understand how people live and feel. I want experiences like food and dance and conversation with interesting people. I want to see the sights, but only if I can find out what they really mean to the culture there. I take great pains to instill a mindset in my learners that we should look around the world for opportunities to experience and embrace that which is different, identify the myriad of problems our world faces, and start dreaming up solutions.
