My name is Alysha Adusei and I’m 15. I am an eager and hopeful applicant for admission to the Summer Discovery program. If I’m accepted I hope to further my understanding of photography, law & government. I’m currently taking a photography class in high school and have discovered that this is something I’ve developed a passion for. My goal, as I grow up, is to explore the world and take pictures of beautiful and meaningful scenery. Also, I learned to pay attention to the little things, like the things that are overlooked by others. Photography helps me live in the present and forget my worries. For instance, a Lost & Forgotten assignment was given during my photography class, and as I walked around the campus I took pictures of what people wouldn’t notice daily. How I think I will personally benefit from a Summer discovery program because it will allow me to experience college life while developing skills that I will need to succeed. Taking a summer discovery program will allow me to learn about potential majors I could take when it’s time to apply for college. I’ve lived in MA since I was born and my parents could not afford to take me out of the city, so by applying for this program, it allows me to experience and see things that I have never seen or experienced. I will personally benefit from a summer discovery program because it will allow me to gain new friendships, broaden my worldview, and experience life at a university. I would like to attend the Summer Discovery program because it will allow me to improve my skills in photography, law & government. Also, try and experience new things, in a place that I have never been to.
