About Me
I am an avid learner and traveler who started my adventuring later in life. My first trip abroad was in 2018, at the age of almost 38! After that, the ball started rolling and since then I have put myself through college (twice, a bachelor's and a master's) and am in the process of applying for a doctoral program in sociology, focusing on health and medicine. My hope is to be accepted into the PhD in Sociology program at the University of Barcelona in Spain. Between school and personal travel, I have had the fortunate opportunity to travel to many different countries and regions. I studied community public health for two months in Botswana, Africa, spent two months in Europe and volunteered in Romania teaching foster kids English, I took myself to Guatemala for 10 days to learn more about the culture and area, and more. I am passionate about learning, education, and being open-minded. Helping people and communities are my goals, and I once was the recipient of a community service award in Marquette, Michigan, for my work doing opioid prevention and education.
