I’m a midwifery student living in Melbourne, someone who’s spent most of her life giving big love to others—whether that’s supporting women through birth, teaching dance and drama to kids, or just being the friend who shows up with snacks and encouragement when it matters most. For a long time, I truly believed love wasn’t going to be part of my story. I was content to cheer other people on and pour my energy into study, work, and friendships. And then—completely unexpectedly—I met someone who changed everything. We connected through Dubbii, an international support group. Neither of us were looking for love, especially not across the world, and neither of us had ever been in a relationship with a woman before. But from our very first conversation, it was effortless. Natural. Like breathing. We laugh more, feel safer, and dream bigger together than either of us ever thought possible. She lives in Wales. I live in Australia. And the distance is the only thing in our way. This isn’t a holiday we’re asking for—it’s a chance to finally be in the same place at the same time. To hug for the first time. To walk side by side.
