About Me
Clever Minds of Refugees International is a refugee-led nonprofit organization established by a collective of African refugees who experienced marginalization and endured inhumane conditions, daily racism, and brutal dehumanization in various refugee camps in Europe, notably the Anker-centrum in Germany. In 2023, this initiative was augmented by the participation of young scholars from Africa who were in Germany for an exchange organized by the Farafina Institute Germany. This collaboration was solidified through our joint venture with the Farafina Institute titled "Voice of Refugees", a comprehensive film project encompassing two movies: "Life in Africa" and "Life in Europe", complemented by eight original songs including titles like "It's Been So Long", "Insecurity", "We Are One World", and "Love Is What We Want". The film served as a vehicle to raise awareness about the journey of refugees to Europe, the challenges faced in Africa, asylum procedures, the camp system, and the psychological, mental, and emotional toll of residing in refugee camps in Germany, notably the Anker center. Our collective took shape subsequent to a workshop with youth exchange participants from Ghana, Germany, Kenya, Eswatini, and Zambia, during which we showcased a trailer of the movie and a music video titled "Let Me Say My Mind" by Farafina, which highlighted police brutality and violence in refugee camps, the mechanisms of Dublin deportations, and the struggles of beggars and homeless refugees. This presentation piqued the interest of young individuals from various African nations to engage with us and enhance the group's capabilities. Initially identified as Wind-Jain Eagle's Entertainment, we transitioned to Lucky Team Stars following collaborative efforts with four African scholars from the exchange program on the film project, leading to the establishment of Clever Minds of Refugees International as an independent nonprofit entity. Our achievements include the successful completion of numerous refugee-oriented projects in partnership with the Farafina Institute. Notable endeavors involve the production of 1000 CD albums featuring six songs, three of which were accompanied by music videos filmed in Berlin, with funding from Demokratie Leben Bamberg. Additionally, we developed two films and eight songs financed by the European Commission and the Heidehof Foundation. We remain eager to build upon these accomplishments and pursue further successes in the future.
