Greetings, I'm Contessa, and I'd like to share a little bit about myself and the journey that led me here. I hail from the beautiful state of Connecticut, where I have spent most of my life building a career and a home for my family. However, life had a different plan in store for me, and a few years ago, I made the heartfelt decision to give up my career to care for three of the most important people in my life: my beloved mother and my adorable twin 3-year-old grandbabies. My mother, once a vibrant and strong woman, has been battling dementia, a challenging and heart-wrenching journey for both her and our family. Witnessing the gradual decline of her memory and independence has been incredibly difficult, and it became evident that she needed a dedicated caregiver. Simultaneously, my life was blessed with the arrival of my sweet grandbabies, filling our home with laughter and joy, but also demanding my full attention and care. Through it all, the sacrifice of my career was a choice I made without hesitation. I became their primary caregiver, cherishing every moment with them and ensuring that my mother's final days would be filled with love, comfort, and cherished memories and that is what has led me here. The journey has not been easy, both emotionally and financially. The cost of caregiving and providing for my grandbabies has placed a significant burden on our family. That's why I've created this fundraising page. I want nothing more than to make my mother's last days truly memorable, that is why I am asking for help to be able to fulfill two of her dying wishes. To fly on a plane and go on a vacation.
