About Me

Hello, my name is Daisy Nyman and I just turned 15. I am a freshman at the Waldorf School in Denver, Colorado, USA. At home, I have one younger sister, Phoebe who is 11 and in the 5th grade. I have two dogs and two cats, We also foster puppies and dogs until they get adopted. In 7th grade, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, dyscalcula and dysgraphia. This means that reading, math, telling time, spelling and many other things are very hard for me in school. But because my brain works differently, I have a photographic memory and I can rotate objects in my mind, and mentally build things from 2D into 3D. I think these skills will help me in my study of forensics and forensic anthropology. I also like learning about the bones and the way that our bodies move. I studied a lot about bones in dance, so I think I will be good at analyzing what has happened to a body or corpse. I also like that you can look at a skull and from that a human face will form that you can sketch. At school, I play basketball on the girls high school team and ultimate frisbee on the co-ed team (boys and girls) in the spring. I like the rain and and I love to draw. I like to listen to music and I bake on the weekends. I love to travel and see new places. My family traveled to Paris, Germany and Austria by train over Christmas break for 3 weeks and I saw many new things. I am excited to go to Washington DC and meet people from all over the US.
