About Me
Sunshine State of Mind & a Heart for Connection Hello, I'm Douglas. Turning 57 this year, I'm a Florida native who has learned to appreciate the rhythm of life in the Sunshine State – the warm weather, the flat landscapes, and the vibrant culture. I've had my share of life experiences, and through it all, I've found a deep appreciation for the simple things, genuine connection, and staying true to myself. I live in the Fort Walton Beach area, enjoying the coastal lifestyle and all it offers. By day, I work in logistics, a career that has taught me the value of planning and reliability, but I'm now transitioning into a more flexible, semi-retired lifestyle that allows me more time for passion projects and personal pursuits. Outside of work, my world is a blend of relaxation and activity. I have a passion for being outdoors and connecting with nature. You can often find me kayaking the local waterways, tending to my modest backyard garden, or exploring new nature trails. I've recently taken up photography as a way to capture the stunning coastal scenery, which has been a great way to stay creative and engaged. When I'm not out and about, I enjoy quieter moments. I love to read, particularly history and classic literature, and I'm a proud member of a local book club. A good evening often involves experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen (homebrewing is a recent interest, too) or catching up on some of my favorite classic films. Staying physically healthy is important to me, so I try to incorporate activities like swimming and golfing into my routine. What I value is honesty, kindness, and a great sense of humor are qualities I value deeply in people. I'm a firm believer in making the most of every day and treating others with respect and compassion. I try to maintain a positive and optimistic outlook on life and would love to share that with someone special.
