About Me
I am writing to you today with a sincere heart and a hopeful spirit. My name is Elbert Alexander, and I am a survivor of domestic violence. This traumatic experience has left me homeless, as the very place I once called home became a battlefield. Despite the hardships, I found solace and support in local shelters. They provided me with a safe haven, a warm bed, and a compassionate community. However, the resources available for individuals in my situation often require certain references that were unattainable from the administrators where I sought shelter. In the midst of this adversity, a beacon of hope emerged. A family member discovered my situation and, without hesitation, extended an invitation to relocate to Grand Rapids, Michigan. They assured me that not only would I have a safe place to stay, but also a job waiting for me upon arrival. This brings me to the purpose of my letter. I am humbly asking for your assistance to fund my journey to Grand Rapids. Your generous donation will be used for the purchase of a bus ticket and for shipping my belongings. I want to express my immense gratitude for considering my request. Your support will not only provide me with the means to start anew but also restore my faith in humanity’s kindness. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, Elbert Alexander
