Hello, all! My name is Emily! I've been prepping for education abroad at Ewha Women's University in Seoul, South Korea for a couple months now! I'm extremely excited to be studying business and fashion in one of the greatest cities in the whole world. Not to mention, one of the fashion capitals of the world! Ever since 2016, I've been ready to study abroad in Seoul. I've done all the research under the sun, made several South Korean buddies, and have taught myself some Korean along the way! Although, I must say, without a teacher Korean is pretty tough! If you're anything like me, you'll understand the difficulties of a non-minority, middle-class dependent. In terms of quality of life, I'm living large and I'm as happy as can be! However, finding scholarships that fit me is almost impossible and I can just forget about those COVID stimulus checks! I currently have one smaller job working with kids at an after school care program, but I realized a little too late that in order to study abroad I need a lot more money saved up! At the end of my Fall 2021 semester, I can foresee myself runnin' on empty and that scares me. My goal is to have a successful year in Seoul without worrying about something so trivial as money, but the world is rarely so giving to me! Haha! I currently struggle with social anxiety and have often dreamed of a life where finding a job and living my dreams carefree is easy. The people around me support my decision to study in South Korea, but don't fully believe I will be able to make it there on my own. I want to prove to them that I am capable and stronger than they give me credit for. I rarely ask my family for money, let alone the public, but I need some help. My first independent adventure in life is going to be a good one, I can feel it! I just need some more support from some kind new friends, like you! I need some people who have been in a place in life just like me and know the pain to sympathize with me! If you donate, I can offer a few things in return!
